Marine Scientist

I’m working as a Scientific Officer at Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute. My current research project is entitled “Experimental Cultivation of Seaweed on the Cox’s Bazar Coast, Bangladesh”. This project was funded by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh. I am working as a Project Director of this project. A book will be published on “Seaweed of the St. Martin’s Island, Bangladesh” very soon. Another book will be published on “The glossary of Seaweed. I am working on “Heavy metals contamination of seaweed: A global review” and writing of “Pictorial Dictionary of Oceanography”. Hope these books will be published by 2024. I participated EKAMSAT Scientific Cruise in the Arabian Sea onboard Sagar Nidhi (SN178) from 28 June to 24 July 2023.

I have four published books titled “Report on experimental cultivation of seaweed on the Cox’s Bazar Coast, Bangladesh”; Corals of Saint Martin’s Island, Bangladesh: An illustrative guide“; Effects of Industrialization on Fish and Fishing communityand Heavy Metals Profile in River.

My main area of expertise is in Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, Fisheries Science, Marine Pollution, Maritime law, and Environmental Science & monitoring. I use observational data and various software for monitoring and assessment of water quality and heavy metals in rivers and oceans. My research interests are in the application of software to monitor the hydrology and movement of metals.
